On 16th August, 1958, in Bay City, Michigan, U. S., Madonna Louise  and Silvio Antony Ciccone brought their daughter Madonna Louise Ciccone into this world. She was born to Catholic family and her Catholic confirmation name is Veronica. She is of Italian, French and Canadian descent.

Her father was an engineer designer for Chrysler and General Motors. Madonna has five siblings: two older brothers, Antony and Martin, and three younger siblings, Paula, Christopher, and Melanie. Her mother died of breast cancer when Madonna was five years old, which made an enormous effect on her behavior.

Madonna attended St. Frederick’s and St. Andrew’s Catholic Elementary Schools, and West Middle School. She went to classical piano lessons, and later on to ballet lessons. Her high grade point average and being a member of the cheerleading squad in Rochester Adams High School earned her a dance scholarship to the University of Michigan. Unfortunatelly, she dropped out of college.
