Toilet Bound Hanako Kun is as uncanny as names can be, the Japanese series got pretty popular with its initial release of the first season back in 2020. Lerche studios gave a riveting start to the series blending in the elements of comedy, supernatural, and animation to an equal proportion.
A Peek Into The Storyline
A compelling series that showcases Nene Yashiro as the protagonist and the plot adds fuel to the urban Japanese myths. One that comes alive with Hanako-San who is regarded as the Seventh Wonder residing in a toilet and whose summoning can lead to granting of wishes.
A lover of everything occult and mystical, Nene Yashiro’s desire of having a fortunate stroke of serendipity led her to summon the ghost of a young girl. The one who is believed to haunt the toilets of the schools. Yashiro is a freshman at the Kamome Academy that is where all the action ensues.
The series further see Yashiro’s desires playing spoilsport with her untimely discovery of Hanako-San being a boy. A slew of events leaves her embroiled in the supernatural world. This is succeeded with her becoming the assistant of Hanako-Kun balancing the real and the spiritual worlds in unison.
There are multiple discoveries with the progress of the season that sees untangling the unchartered territory of Hanako-Kun, who acts as the divider of everything fragile. This is from mortal beings to ghosts and apparitions. The first season ends with enough mystery and is set to even get better with it advancing into season 2.

When Can We Expect The Release
There is no official confirmation on the series renewal by Lerche Studios. The last episode of the first season was telecasted on the 26th of March 2020 and hence it is too early to comment. The question is whether there is enough source material to renew the series.
The series is an adaptation of Manga by the same name and has been popular not only in Japan but across the world. The show went on to amass a massive share of the revenue for the creators and it is yet to be seen when it will make an official comeback.
