We’ve compiled a list of every single Weinstein allegation so far

One of his first accusers has filed a lawsuit against him alleging rape and harassment

By Kat Lister on

With each new day, another Weinstein horror story emerges and our hearts collectively sink as we speed-read the headlines on our way to work. The numbers double, then triple. Names merge. Like a queasy passenger on a speeding carousel, it’s a struggle to keep up.

A different woman each day a now crushingly familiar sequence of events: the gross power-player in a bathrobe, coercion in a hotel room and aggressive grabbing – with a bottle of champagne on ice. Bully tactics, then silence. A breach of power sprinkled over with promises, threats and non-disclosure agreements to cover over the tracks.

A further theme that ties these women together? #MeToo has raised social awareness, but not one of these allegations have been tried in a criminal court. We, the public, have unquestionably become public jurors.

With each new name that surfaces, are we in danger of becoming desensitised to Weinstein’s predatory abuse? It’s a question we’ve been asking ourselves at The Pool and it’s why we’ve compiled a full and comprehensive list of every single woman who has spoken out about the trauma they suffered, over decades of Weinstein’s career, in five-star hotel suites across the globe.

Seventy-two women to be exact – 72 individuals with careers on the rise and a sickness in their gut. We’ll keep adding names as this story continues to expand and evolve.

These are their stories.

1 melissa thompson, marketing executive

“Thompson was fighting back, but could not out-muscle him. Thompson closed her eyes, traumatized [sic], praying for the assault to end.” So reads Melissa Thompson's lawsuit after she accused Harvey Weinstein of raping her in a New York hotel room during a marketing-tech pitch for her new start-up. Thompson also claims that Weinstein's current attorney, Ben Brafman, and another attorney at his firm, Alex Spiro, used deceptive tactics to hand over audio and video evidence.

2 caitlin dulany, actress

Dulany alleges that the movie mogul sexually assaulted her at the Hotel du Cap in Cannes – a frequent haunt – in 1996.  According to her suit, Weinstein performed oral sex on her without her consent and then masturbated.

3 larissa gomes, actress

Gomes alleges that Weinstein cornered her in – yes, you guessed it – a hotel room. This time, in Toronto, in 2000. According to her account, he asked her to give him a massage before requesting to see her breast. When she refused, he got angry. When she tried to flee, Gomes alleges he forcibly tried to kiss her.

4 anne heche, actress, director and screenwriter

How low can he go? Possibly by firing an employee for refusing to perform oral sex on him. “I personally did not suck Harvey’s dick, although he showed it to me, and I got out of the room before there was any physical contact,” Heche revealed during a podcast interview, “The fact is, I was fired from a job that I had been hired for in Miramax.” She added: "You were threatened the second you walk out the door.”

Weinstein's next abuse of power occured over two years between 2013-15 – allegations of such an obscene nature that it's difficult to imagine how the mogul's then-26-year-old personal assistant navigated her way through. Rehal claims her boss dictated emails to her in the nude and was often expected to clean up after his "extremely prolific sexual encounters." In other words: wiping semen off the casting couch. Rehal also alleges that he rubbed between her thighs when they were in his chauffeured car together. "I am Harvey Weinstein and you are at Weinstein University," he would regularly tell her, "I decide whether or not you graduate."

6 Alexandra canosa, associate producer

In a new lawsuit, Alexandra Canosa – an employee of The Weinstein Company – alleges that she experienced “sexual harassment, sexual intimidation, emotional abuse, assault and battery” over the course of several years. Canosa also accuses the company and board of complicity in Weinstein's abuse by concealing and failing to act to stop it. According to Variety: "Weinstein is now facing at least seven lawsuits alleging sexual harassment or sexual assault."

7 Salma Hayek, actress

The Hollywood actress is the latest woman to step forward and share her experience of harassment at the hands of Weinstein. "For years, he was my monster," she wrote exclusively for the New York Times, detailing years of bullying that had a significant impact on her career – and a project close to her heart, 2002's biopic Frida, which she starred in and co-produced. His "yes" became her "no". She gave us a glimpse of his harassment in her powerful op-ed: "No to opening the door to him at all hours of the night, hotel after hotel, location after location, where he would show up unexpectedly, including one location where I was doing a movie he wasn’t even involved with". One time, in an attack of fury, "he said the terrifying words, 'I will kill you, don’t think I can’t.'"

In 1996, an offer to discuss roles (in a hotel bedroom – where else?) led to a lucky escape for the actress, who insisted that Weinstein's assistant accompany her.  She knocked on the door and she was standing behind me,” Margulies told the Just Jenny show. “And he opened the door in a bathrobe. I could see that there were candles lit in the room and there was a dinner for two. And I saw him stare at her, daggers. And I caught her in a shrug — like, ‘What could I do?’ and he looked at me, furious, and he took the door and he said, ‘Just wanted to say good audition.’ And he slammed the door. And, of course, I didn’t get the part.”

In November 2018, De la Huerta filed a lawsuit against Weinstein, alleging rape and harassment. Talking to Vanity Fair a year earlier, the actress recalled two separate incidents in her own apartment. The first occured in 2010: after they met in a hotel to discuss work projects, Weinstein offered to drive the actress home. “Immediately when we got inside the house, he started to kiss me and I kind of brushed [him] away,” de la Huerta told the magazine. “Then he pushed me on to the bed and his pants were down and he lifted up my skirt. I felt afraid... It wasn’t consensual... It happened very quickly... He stuck himself inside me... When he was done, he said he’d be calling me. I kind of just laid on the bed in shock.” A second assault occured later that year – again, at her home. returning home after a night out, Weinstein turned up in her lobby. She was frightened. He "hushed" her. “I was in no state. I was so terrified of him... I did say no and when he was on top of me, I said, ‘I don’t want to do this.’ He kept humping me and it was disgusting. He’s like a pig... He raped me.”

10 Cynthia Burr, actress

The latest New York Times exposé has expanded the period of Weinstein's alleged abuse to the 70s. Burr stayed silent about her alleged abuse for 40 years, this time in an elevator. The actress told the paper that Weinstein tried to kiss her before unzipping his fly and forcing her to perform oral sex on him. “I’m really sad for everybody, but I’m really glad it’s out in the open," she said.

11 Hope Exiner d'Amore, employee

We remain in the late 70s with a meeting in New York and an overnight stay at the Park Lane Hotel. When d'Amore and Weinstein got to the lobby, he told her there had been a mistake. There was only one room and they had to share. Reluctantly she agreed. That evening he slipped into her bed, naked – and uninvited. “I told him no. I kept pushing him away. He just wouldn’t listen,” she told The New York Times. She alleges he then raped her. Like Burr, d'Amore has stayed silent about what happened for four decades.

12 Ashley Matthau, actress

Weinstein, according to Matthau, was aggressive with her from the moment they met in 2004, in Puerto Rico, while she was performing in Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights. Different location, same motifs: pressuring, persisting, insisting. Matthau said she spoke out about her concerns to colleagues. No one helped her. A further tactic: an invitation to his hotel room to discuss work projects. Weinstein reportedly told Matthau that he could help her like he had helped numerous other actresses – in the bedroom. When she declined, she alleges he pushed her on the bed, fondled her breasts; stripped, straddled and masturbated on her.

As for the repeated questioning – why didn't she speak? – Matthau did more than try to speak: she hired a lawyer. In fact, she alleges that she met with Mr Weinstein and Daniel M Petrocelli – his attorney – at the Peninsula Beverly Hills. She remembers being told this:

“‘We’ll drag you through the mud by your hair.’”

13 Lacey Dorn, actress and filmmaker

Twenty-two-year old Dorn was introduced to Weinstein at a New York Film Festival party in 2011. A few weeks later, there was another party, this time for Halloween. As she left, she alleges that Weinstein grabbed her between her legs, groping her crotch through her clothes. “I just got out of the party as fast as possible,” she told T e New York Times. They never spoke again.

14 Annabella Sciorra, actress

Sciorra is the latest woman to accuse Weinstein of raping her, triggered by an audio recording of his bully tactics that was released earlier this month. She spoke to Ronan Farrow for The New Yorker. Sciorra refers to the "Weinstein ecosystem" and a "circle of Miramax" that enabled his behaviour. The mogul dropped Sciorra off after dinner in New York. A few minutes later, a knock on the door. According to the actress, Weinstein "walked in like it was his apartment, like he owned the place, and started unbuttoning his shirt". She told him to leave. He grabbed her. She kicked and she yelled. She alleges that he then locked her arms and forced sexual intercourse. “When he was done, he ejaculated on my leg, and on my nightgown,” she said. "It was a family heirloom, handed down from relatives in Italy and embroidered in white cotton."

15 Daryl Hannah, actress

Hannah said she told people about her experience at the time – no one listened. Weinstein pounded on Hannah's door on three separate occasions. The first time was at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc: she said she was so scared that she escaped via an exterior door. The second occurred the following night: she and her make-up artist huddled with a dresser pushed up against the door. A few years later, a different hotel; this time in Rome. “He had a key,” Hannah told The New Yorker. “He came through the living room and into the bedroom. He just burst in like a raging bull." She was watching movies with her make-up artist. Flustered, he demanded she put on a dress and attend a party downstairs. When she eventually came downstairs, the actress said there was no party. Weinstein was waiting. According to Hannah, the following conversation took place: “Are your tits real?” Then he asked if he could feel them. “I said, ‘No, you can’t!’ And then he said, ‘At least flash me, then.’ And I said, ‘Fuck off, Harvey.’'”

16 Natassia Malthe, actress

Malthe is one of the latest women to speak out, accusing Weinstein of raping her in a London hotel room in 2008. The actress said she first met Weinstein at a BAFTAs after-party. Hours later she woke up in her hotel room to the sound of pounding on her door. "I believe that I disassociated during the time that he was having sex with me," the BBC reports her saying. "I laid still and closed my eyes and just wanted it to end. I was like a dead person."

17 Romola Garai, actress

Garai told The Guardian she felt “violated” after auditioning in a Savoy hotel room. “He answered the door in his bathrobe,” she said. “I was only 18. I felt violated by it, it has stayed very clearly in my memory.”

18 Vu Thu Phuong, actress and model

According to the actress, Weinstein wanted to instruct Phuong how to perform a sex scene. With a towel around his waist.

In 2010, de Caunes alleges that Weinstein invited her to his Parisian hotel room to discuss a film adaptation. In due course, he emerged from the bathroom. Naked.

20 Paula Wachowiak, intern

When Wachowiak was asked to drop some accounts off at Weinstein’s hotel room, she says he answered wearing a bathrobe before quickly dropping it on the floor. “He sat on the bed with the folder over his groin and pointed to checks and asked me why we were paying for this or that,” she says.

21 Tomi-Ann Roberts, college student

“I really thought that it was kind of my fault.” In 1984 Tomi-Ann Roberts was a 20-year-old college student and aspiring actress when she says Weinstein propositioned her in a bathtub.

Mimi Haleyi says she was assaulted by Weinstein in a child's bedroom in his New York apartment in 2006. “I tried to get him off of me and kept asking him to stop but it was impossible,” she told a press conference in New York. “He was extremely persistent and physically ov8erpowering."

27 Rosanna Arquette, actress

Rosanna Arquette told the New Yorker that a meeting with Weinstein at the Beverly Hills Hotel in the early 1990s led to a “fight-or-flight moment”. The mogul opened his hotel room door in – yes, you guessed it – a bathrobe, telling her he needed a massage and grabbing her hand. When she pulled it away from him  she says he snatched it again and pulled it towards his penis.

28 Tara Subkoff, artist and director

Speaking up about alleged harassment that occurred in the 1990s, Subkoff commented: “He motioned for me to come over to him, and then grabbed me to sit me on his lap. I was so surprised and shocked I couldn’t stop laughing because it was so awkward. But then I could feel that he had an erection. I got quiet, but got off his lap quickly. He then asked me to come outside with him and other things I don’t want to share, but it was implied that if I did not comply with doing what he asked me to do that I would not get the role that I had already been informally offered.”

29 Lena Headey, actress

Headey said Weinstein reacted angrily when she refused his advances in a Los Angeles hotel admitting that the experience made her feel “completely powerless”.

According to Kendall, Weinstein harassed her in his apartment in 1993 and “literally chased me”, blocking her from reaching the front door.

33 Gwyneth Paltrow, actress

“This way of treating women ends now,” Paltrow appealed as she stepped forward with her own account of harassment at the hands of the mogul at the Peninsula Beverly Hills hotel. Weinstein suggested they go to the bedroom for massages, she claims. “I was a kid, I was signed up, I was petrified.”

34 Dawn Dunning, actress

“I felt humiliated,” Dawn Dunning told NBC. The year is 2003 and the actress was 24 years old. Another hotel room, another bathrobe. “I have contracts for my next three films, here, and I will sign them today, but I want you to have a threesome with me and my assistant,” Dunning recalls Weinstein telling her. “And so, I laughed. Obviously he must be joking, right? He started yelling at me, so at that point I fled from the room.”

A Polish model, identified as Jane Doe, accused Weinstein of assaulting her at his New York apartment when she was 16 years old. The alleged assault happened just days after they’d met, at an event involving her modeling agency. Doe alleges that Weinstein promised to take her to lunch to discuss her career, but instead took her to his empty Soho apartment and “aggressively and threateningly” demanded sex. Weinstein instructed Doe to take off her clothes and intimated that she’d never work as an actor unless she gave in to his demands.

A few years later, when Doe said she was dating a wealthy man, Weinstein got possessive and chastised her for being unavailable for him sexually, according to the filing. On another occassion, she claims he showed up at her building and tried to get access to her room, but security refused to let him in.

Under UK law, victims of sexual assault and rape are granted anonymity unless they choose to identify themselves. Therefore, there are many other women who have accused Weinstein of sexual assault, but who cannot be named for legal reasons.
