Before you start to panic that you’re reading news of yet another beauty advent calendar, fear not: this is a real-life, old-fashioned calendar. The second to come from French fashion editor Carine Roitfeld (founder and editor of the biannual CR Fashion Book), the calendar is titled CR Women 2019 and features beautiful photographs of various women, shot by photographer Mario Sorrenti. Everyone from Elizabeth Hurley, global ambassador for the Estée Lauder breast-cancer campaign, to Estée Lauder models Karlie Kloss, Anok Yai and Joan Smalls, feature in what is, according to the beauty brand, a “tribute to women’s strength and beauty”.

“I wanted to highlight the personality and individuality of these beautiful women tied to the strong symbol of breast-cancer awareness,” said Roitfeld. The images showcase each model’s femininity, with a ribbon incorporated into the looks. While the calendar, at £120, may well be more expensive than your usual choice, 100% of the price goes to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the largest nonprofit funder of breast-cancer research worldwide. “Breast cancer is a universal issue that touches everyone – if not personally, then one’s relative or friend,” Roitfeld said. “I am honoured to shine a light on the invaluable research the BCRF has accomplished and to support their dedication to help end the fight which has affected so many incredible individuals.”
