It goes without saying that the high street is great. Occasionally, however, the ubiquity of that Zara dress (or coat) tends to get a bit frustrating when you arrive somewhere to find every woman you’ve ever known wearing the same thing. This is just one of the many reasons why Charles & Keith is worth taking a look at – the brand makes shoes and bags that look high-end but with a high-street price. And your friends (probably) won’t have heard of it.

Founded in 1996 by Charles and Keith Wong, the brand has really upped its game in the past two years, cultivating great designs that are of a high quality – without being expensive. Prices start at around £39 for a pair of block heels, while you can get a pair of lovely knee-high boots for £79. There's even a kids' range that's just launched on the site, with styles for less than £30.

Keep your eyes peeled for the new collection landing in March, too – there are some real corkers on the horizon.
