  • I AM GOING... to work. As an operatic soprano, my "office" can be on a stage, in a rehearsal room, filming a video... anywhere around the world! I am currently preparing to perform the role of Antonia in Les Contes d’Hoffmann at the Royal Opera House in London. This production is also being relayed live into cinemas around the world – it’s incredible to think that so many people around the globe will be able to enjoy the performance with us from the theatre here in Covent Garden.

  • I AM LOVING... the freedom of travelling to so many incredible places and choosing to work on roles and projects that I'm passionate about. At the moment, I am spending a lot of time travelling to London, which is a city I love. I love making my way to the Royal Opera House each day for rehearsals and performances. Covent Garden has a really special atmosphere and it’s great to be in the heart of the city.

  • I AM WATCHING... cartoons with my son – one of our favourite things to do together. Our favourite cartoon is Mickey Mouse – we have seen every episode! It’s a great way for us to spend time together and relax.

  • I AM READING... new musical scores for the role debuts I will sing in the future. Opera singers have to memorise a lot of information to bring a character to life – the language of the text, the correct pronunciation of it, the music in the score, the staging/movement for the production... We are constantly learning new pieces, while still keeping our current roles fresh in our minds and bodies.

  • I AM EATING… organic, whenever possible, as it helps me to stay healthy while travelling. Healthy eating is really important for an opera singer. It’s a really physical job, as you have to project your voice over an orchestra, completely unamplified. In addition to that, our schedules are very demanding – we have to travel a lot, take on serious rehearsal schedules and make sure we are able to perform to thousands of people. Before a show, I make sure I eat some carbohydrates to give me the right energy and nutrients.

  • I AM WEARING… Rolex and Alaïa. I'm very fortunate to be a Rolex artist and to wear their elegant timepieces. They are great supporters of the arts. And to me, Alaïa's pieces are some of the best in fashion – beautiful and bold, always unique.

  • I AM USING... my iPad. Travel-friendly technology is key when you're living on the road.

  • I AM TRYING… to sleep – it's not easy. Thinking about what I'm working on right now, what's coming up next, my family... I always have a lot on my mind.

  • I AM EXCITED… always. I'm lucky to have a job I'm so passionate about, a beautiful family and amazing friends. There is something new to enjoy every day in this life and I'm grateful for it.
