Five steps to a 5K

Paint, dance tunes, scones, dogs in T-shirts and some ill-advised boozing. Here's how The Pool runs a 5K

If you'd told me I would be getting up at 7am on a Sunday to run around a field while being pelted with paint dust, I would have told you to go and do one. However, when Clinique invited The Pool to take part in their Run Or Dye 5K to support the Kiss it Better appeal, my arm was twisted. Especially when they mentioned there would be a slice of carrot cake at the finishing line and a chance to chat to Olympian and #DifferenceMaker ambassador Victoria Pendleton.

So, on Sunday 3rd July, in the glorious grounds of Penshurst Place, my fellow Poolers and I ran, jogged, walked (bit hungover) and slid (bit muddy) for the most colourful 40 minutes of our lives. There were dads in wigs, babies in tutus, dogs in tiny T-shirts, some banging house tunes and lots of paint. It was bonkers. And brilliant.

Here are the highlights:

Essential prep the night before. Seemed like a good idea at the time

Bright *ahem*, early and ready to roll (Note the sunglasses)

A very vital pre-run sugar fix. #sugarface #eatclean #bodyisatemple

Everyone got involved, from tiny dogs... tiny children

There was a lot of paint

A LOT of paint

But, thankfully, a lot of wipes

And scones on the finishing line. The lunch of champions
