French 75

Emily from Every Cloud cocktail bar shows us the first of her simple Christmas cocktails - a French 75, the perfect cocktail for brunch

French 75

  • 12.5ml gin
  • 12.5ml lemon juice
  • 5ml sugar syrup
  • Fill with sparkling wine 
  1. Combine the gin, lemon juice and sugar syrup in a flute, and stir.
  2. Top with sparkling wine, and garnish with a lemon twist.

NB: Make sugar syrup at home using equal parts sugar and cold water by weight - eg 500ml of water to 500g of sugar. It should last 2-3 weeks in the fridge, but if you add a shot of vodka it will last longer.
