The brand is partnering with the Surfrider Foundation in a bid to reduce the amount of plastic found on beaches. This means that every order will equate to one less pound of plastic in the world's oceans – a worthy cause indeed.

Birdsong makes a point, every year, of eschewing Black Friday, and 2018 is no exception. The brand sent an email to its customers stating the following: "Sorry. We never do a Black Friday sale. We want to make clothes that last a lifetime. We want to make statements that last longer than the time it takes to read a slogan. And we want to provide decent, living wages all year round. So for that, we work on getting the best deal for you and our makers 365 days a year." There's also information on where exactly your money goes when you purchase something from Birdsong, which you can see here.
There is a multitude of little gems to be found at New Look, if you know where to look. Midi dresses, coats and blazers are particularly good and won't break the bank. For Black Friday, the brand has 50% off many of its pieces, meaning you can restock your wardrobe without spending a fortune.
There will be 25% off everything online, meaning you could bagsy anything, from your Christmas party outift (there are sequins galore) to cosy staples and a whole load of animal print.

BeYou has also established a petition to ensure that menstrual wellbeing is taught in all schools, which you can sign here.
While this isn't strictly a fashion-related initiative, it's one that deserves our attention. Linkey, the social enterprise established to help the homeless, has created a Secret Santa Gift, available for just £12. It consists of essential items such as hats, gloves, socks, and hand warmers, among other things and they will be distrubuted to those sleeping rough, as well as in homeless shelters. Given the news this week that at least 320,000 people in the UK are currently homeless, this initiative could not be more important.
