What do JK Rowling, Nicole Kidman, Gwyneth Paltrow and Céline Dion all have in common? They’ve all worn Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk lipstick – the bestselling nude-pink matte lipstick that, in Tilbury’s own words, has become a “national treasure”. Widely loved for its flatter-everyone appeal, the charm of Pillow Talk is that it makes your lips look like your lips but better. Sexier. Peachier. And with more oomph. It’s easy to apply – smooth and silky – and, because of the subtle colour, it doesn’t matter if you go out of the lines. You could apply it on the bus. It’s the definition of failsafe and this is why what I’m about to tell you is such good news: Pillow Talk has expanded.
Launched last week, the Pillow Talk range now includes an eyeshadow palette and blusher. While the eyeshadow is gorgeous – four rosy colours that you layer up to make a soft smoky look – it’s the blusher that I really want to tell you about. Made up of a dusky pink blush surrounding a twinkly champagne highlighter, like its lipstick counterpart, it offers a your-face-but-better effect. Think a natural-looking flush with a hint of healthy glow. It enhances your cheekbones, makes you appear more awake and looks really, really pretty.
A doddle to use, grab a large, soft face brush (try this one) and swirl it around the palette, catching both shades. Sweep your brush on to the apples of your cheeks, along your cheekbones and up over your temples, taking it into your hairline. If you want a bit of extra glow, pop a bit of the shimmery champagne on to a fingertip and dot it along the top of your cheekbone and under the arch in your eyebrow. Thanks to the large compact mirror, it’s a great thing to have in your on-the-go make-up kit, or stashed in your handbag for a post-work, pre-drinks pep-up.
