Fiona Bruce takes the reigns of the BBC's flagship debate show

Fiona Bruce becomes the first woman to host Question Time tonight, after David Dimbleby stepped down just before Christmas. The TV veteran is being thrown in the deep end for her inaugural programme, this time filmed in London, with some big political hitters who are bound to get into an argument – or at least a "heated discussion". Deputy chairman of the Conservative party James Cleverly, deputy leader of the Lib Dems Jo Swinson and shadow foreign secretary Emily Thornberry represent from Parliament, while The Times columnist Melanie Phillips and comedian Nish Kumar are also on hand to, hopefully, keep the political jargon in check.
