I harp on regularly about how things should be, what other people should or shouldn’t do, how journalists, politicians and more generally men, shouldn’t behave. But it is easy to bash out a few words on a laptop when you’re feeling angry. I am, however, eternally impressed by the people who actually *do* things, who put their money where their mouths are, who make a real, tangible difference.
The Pool’s co-founder Lauren Laverne will be in conversation on the 5th of July in central London with four women who *do* things, four women who are gamechangers and difference-makers, who are working to make, actual, real, positive change.
Joining Lauren will be former Olympic champion Victoria Pendleton, who works tirelessly to speak out against sexism in sport and encourage young girls to participate in it; journalist Bryony Gordon who writes about mental health bravely and beautifully; politically-motivated poet Hollie McNish who exposes the warts-and-all reality of being pregnant and a new mum; and Juno Dawson – formerly James – the YA teen-fiction bestselling author and trans activist.
Expect smart, funny, honest, intelligent and inspiring conversations from a room of amazing women at a time when it feels more than ever, the world could do with a few more difference makers.
See you there!
